Designed by Von Robinson, the Ellie Recliner is a healthcare recliner for patient rooms, infusion bays, treatment spaces, and other care environments. Soft curves, an embracing back, and ergonomic support provide lasting comfort, while fully replaceable components help extend product life and simplify maintenance.
High-contact elements—including the loop arms, side lever, push bar, and bumper base—are crafted from Kwalu’s Protea® material, delivering exceptional durability and a non-porous surface that stands up to the daily demands of healthcare. Features
Durable Finish
Kwalu’s proprietary finish doesn’t have any of the drawbacks of wood. The finish is moisture impervious, easy to clean, and maintenance-free.
Trendelenburg Mechanism
Engaged by staff only, the mechanism activates from either side when the chair is fully reclined to 72” and pressure is
applied to the back.
Optional Upholstered Arm Panels
The Upholstered Arm Panels are available and optional.
Central Locking System
Locks all four casters with a single control.
Optional Transfer Arm
Optional Adjustable Headrest
An adjustable headrest is available and is optional.
Inclined Footrest
The footrest tucks under the seat of the Ellie Recliner for better positioning from sit to stand.
Push Bar
The push bar, Kwalu Protea finish, aids staff in positioning the recliner.
Replaceable Components
The Ellie back, seat, arm panels and caster with bumper are all replaceable components.
Safety Footrest
Safety footrest collapses upon overload.
Optional IV Pole Holder
An optional IV Pole Holder is available and must be attached on the side opposite the Ellie Recliner’s lever.
Optional Foley Bag Hook
Optional Heat and Massage
Heat and Massage is an optional feature, only available if Upholstered Arm Panels are used.
Optional Tablet Table
Available as an add-on. Not compatible with the Transfer Arm option.
Optional Side Folding Table
Available as an add-on. Not compatible with the Transfer Arm option.
Position-Locking Back
The recline back can be locked at any angle using the side paddle, giving patients and care partners precise control from seated to fully reclined positions.
